Hoboken Engagement: Jen + Tom

A few weekends ago, I spent a warm summer evening in Hoboken with Jen and Tom for their engagement shoot.  We met down along the Hudson River with New York City as their backdrop.  These two were simply fun. I’m pretty certain I laughed more than I actually shot.  Tom is quite the character and you can tell that he always knows how to make his lady smile. It was sweet and endearing to watch them together.

We had a great evening together and were quite lucky because as we finished up the shoot, it started to storm. I’m honored to be shooting their wedding this coming November in Hoboken and I know I’ll get some more laughing shots then, too.

Congratulations, Jen and Tom on your engagement.

This is one of the parks that Jen and Tom come to in the evenings to have picnic dinners and spend time together.

Love this laugh…

After an outfit change, we stayed along one of the Hoboken streets that has beautiful brownstone homes…

Dapper…

Town Point Club Virginia Wedding: Chelsea + John

Having met at Longwood University, John and Chelsea quickly became friends. After four years had past, and being the only two of their friends left in their small college town, Chelsea and John’s friendship grew stronger.  But it wasn’t until she took a trip around Europe that she knew this was more. They continually e-mailed each other and when she landed at the airport, John was there waiting to take her home. This was the beginning of something that would last forever.

These are two absolutely beautiful people and I couldn’t have been more blessed to photograph their wedding day. Despite the sweltering 100 degree heat, these two never uttered a complaint, as all they could think about was spending the rest of their lives together.

Congratulations, Chelsea and John.

Much love…

The bridal party got ready at The Premier Waterside Marriott in Norfolk

Hair and makeup was beautifully done by Blush Hair and Makeup Salon…

Isn’t her beauty just timeless?

The ceremony was held along the waterside at the Norfolk Pagoda

After the ceremony, we stayed along the water to get some bridal party shots. They were such a fun group…

And some of just the two of them…

Their beautiful reception was held just a few blocks away at The Town Point Club

It was so sweet to see them laughing together throughout the evening…

After a beautiful and fun-filled evening, Chelsea and John had a gorgeous send off…

Old Towne Portsmouth Engagement Shoot: Katherine & Martin

This past weekend, I flew home to Virginia for Katherine and Martin’s engagement shoot.  Having spoken just over e-mail and one Skype consultation, I was excited to get to spend a few hours with them as we walked around Downtown Norfolk and Old Towne Portsmouth.  Both having come to America from Poland at young ages, they immediately caught each other’s attention when they learned their heritage were of the same. As we walked around together, I learned that these two are extremely in love and with a doubt, perfect as one. Playful all the while sweet, Martin knows how to make her smile…and that’s what makes a marriage last.

Congratulations, Katherine and Martin. Thank you, for the honor of being your wedding photographer this coming September.

Have a great Wednesday!

We started out near The Pagoda in Norfolk where Martin proposed. He had foreshadowed five years before when he first met her that this was the place he was going to propose. He kept his word…

Love this…

We took a ride on The Elizabeth River Paddlewheel Ferry that took us to Old Towne Portsmouth.

The rain stopped just in time for our shoot and the overcast sky created a rich white background…

Katherine has the most amazing blue eyes…

Waiting for the ferry to go home…

Thank you, Katherine and Martin for a wonderful afternoon. To see more of Katherine and Martin’s Engagement Shoot…see the slideshow below.

MY FAVORITE = the black and white where they’re kissing and you shoot from above – it’s a horizontal picture and the intimacy of both the crop and their actions make me go weak in the knees 😉

great session!!
