Norfolk Virginia Wedding: Katherine + Martin

As the rain kept trickling from the sky, I was curious to discover how Katherine and Martin’s day might unfold. When I arrived at her parent’s house to capture her while she got ready, she had nothing but a smile across her face. As Katherine sat getting her hair and makeup done, she remained calm and collected with a touch of sweet nervousness. Having met Katherine and Martin back in April for their engagement shoot, I knew the kind of couple these two were. And that’s why I knew Katherine had nothing but joy on this day, because she was going to wed the man that told five years ago on the night they first met, that he was going to marry her. Despite the rain, this day was full of sunshine from the love that these two exude.

Ben and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as we spent the day with friends and family of Katherine and Martin. And let me tell you, their reception was unlike any other we have ever photographed…I haven’t had that much fun, nor laughed so hard in a long time. Polish weddings are quite the partaaay.

Thank you, Katherine and Martin and congratulations!

Katherine’s bridesmaids were there to make sure she looked even more flawless than she already did…

Martin and his groomsmen got ready in the presidential suite at the Sheraton in Downtown Norfolk.

The beautiful ceremony was held in Virginia Beach at St. John the Apostle Catholic Parish

After the ceremony, we headed to Indian River Plantation for pictures. And would you believe that just as the bridal party stepped out of the limo, it stopped raining? Well, believe it.

Love love the intensity here…

A big thank you to Stephanie of Daevid’s for the spectacular florals.

So sweet, these two…

The reception was held at The Norfolk Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Norfolk.

Many thanks to Namita Patel for her well orchestrated and flawless planning of the reception.

After their grand entrance, Katherine and Martin opened the evening with a beautiful first dance…

This gorgeous cake was beautifully created by Incredible Edibles.

An enormous thank you for the spectacular Polish/American entertainment of the evening by the Simone Band

Once the oversized glasses and neon hats came out, the night got craaazy fun!

Anybody could tell by looking at the newlyweds that they had the wedding of their dreams…

And one more…of yours truly…

Congratulations, Katherine and Martin.

Onteora Mountain House Wedding: Julia + Forrest

A few weekends ago, Ben and I had the pleasure to travel to upstate New York to a little mountain town right outside of Woodstock. Having spoken to Julia about the venue, I knew this setting was going to be breathtaking. The Onteora Mountain House is tucked between gorgeous green mountains on either side.  You can’t quite get enough of the fresh air that this place brings you.

Julia and Forrest had an absolutely beautiful day. Friends and family were in abundance and you could see that everyone was beyond thrilled to help celebrate the newlyweds and their new journey together.

Julia and Forrest, thank you for having us on your wedding day. We wish you the best that life has to offer.

Congratulations.

I couln’t believe it, but Julia wore these phenomenal heels the entire day…I’m totally impressed.

Julia had her girls from all stages of her life there to help to get ready…

Julia, you are absolutely breathtaking…

Meanwhile, Ben was with Forrest and his fellas while they got ready.

It’s about that time…

The new Mr. and Mrs…

A beautiful cocktail hour was held for guests while we were off taking photos with the bridal party.

Looking good, Forrest…looking good.

Loved the light that was setting in…

A stunning bride…

Such a sweet couple. They fit perfectly together.

The reception was held inside this gorgeous, heavy-timber pavilion.

The two opened up the night with a beautiful first dance…

…followed by a sweet father/daughter dance…

They had some beautiful speeches given by family and friends…

And then the night was full of fun and lots of dancing.

Congratulations, Julia and Forrest.

Eastern Shore Virginia Engagement: April + Patrick

We could not have requested a more beautiful day in Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.  We started the shoot around 4 P.M. which gave us ideal lighting with a warm glow of the setting sun. April and Patrick were so fun and such a sweet couple to photograph. I met April through one of my previous brides and I’m so thrilled and honored to be able to shoot their wedding next June in Cape Charles. I never knew what a gem Cape Charles was, hiding back along the water, away from the main highway. I know this will be the perfect setting for April and Patrick’s wedding. I can’t wait!

Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

Happy Thursday!

In this shot right below, April just finished telling me how Patrick always makes her smile. Must be true.

Our second location was under a pagoda on a breathtaking golf course.

Gorgeous, April…

We then headed to a nearby sunflower field…

Lastly, we ended up along some railroad tracks near the water…

Beautiful couple…really…

Loved this light!

April and Patrick did one last outfit change, as per Patrick’s request – Being National fans, he wanted this one picture. Turned out to be one of my favorites.

Congratulations you two! Can’t wait to photograph your wedding next year.

[…] Well, needless to say, I was blessed that they picked me. We really got to know each other at their engagement shoot in Cape Charles, VA last September. I knew that their wedding was going to be magnificently […]
