Eastern Shore Wedding: April + Patrick

I first met April and Patrick about a year ago at one of their friend’s wedding that I was shooting. As I was with the girls while they were getting ready, April was telling me about her wedding the following year and how she was still in need of a photographer. After meeting her fiance, Patrick and her father at the reception, I hoped and prayed that they chose me to capture their day. They seemed like such a warm and genuine couple. Well, needless to say, I was blessed that they picked me. We really got to know each other at their engagement shoot in Cape Charles, VA last September. I knew that their wedding was going to be magnificently beautiful as I got to know April and her style. And boy, she did not disappoint.

On June 15, April and Patrick were surrounded by their closest friends and family for their wedding. One of the most beautiful settings I have photographed, April and Patrick said “I Do” along the water of the Eastern Shore in Virginia. The golden glow as the sun dipped behind the horizon was breathtaking. It was so heartwarming to see how happy April and Patrick were to be married to each other.

I am truly grateful to have spent the day with them and I wish them only the best that life has to offer!

Congratulations, April and Patrick!

Much love,

Jenelle

April’s Maya Couture gown was made for her.

Patrick sent his bride a note that filled her eyes with tears.

April’s mom and closest girls were there to help her dress for her big day.

Stunning…

Two of the most precious flower girls, April’s nieces were there to be adorable. And they sure were…

While I was with the girls, Ben was with the guys and captured Patrick opening a note and a stunning Burberry watch from his bride.

The evening ceremony was held on the dock at Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles.

After the beautiful ceremony, I snapped a few bridal party portraits.

And then it was time for just the newlyweds…

The warm, golden sun was glorious for photographs!

The reception was just a few yards away from the ceremony site under a big, white tent along the water.

April and Patrick started the beautiful night with a dance so touching that I couldn’t help but cry behind my camera.

As the moon rose, the party really got fun. Tons of dancing, laughing and warm wishes from family and friends.

And of course, big fun at the photo booth.

Just shy of midnight, the two exited their wedding through an aisle of sparklers.

Congratulations you two!

Lake Anna Virginia Wedding: Lindsay + DJ

A few weekends ago, we traveled down to Virginia to capture Lindsay and DJ’s wedding near Fredericksburg at Lake Anna. It was such an honor to be able to spend the day photographing their wedding. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Lindsay since our Freshman year in college. She was the adorable blonde across the hall who was obsessed with pink and the Boston Redsox. She is the kind of woman that would bend over backwards to make her friends happy. So, I knew she only deserved the best when it came to the man she was going to marry. Having met DJ for the first time at their rehearsal dinner, I knew just by watching them together, she was about to marrying her best friend. Sharing an equal love for family, friends and of course, sports, they were obviously made for each other. I want to wish them a lifetime full of happiness and love that continually grows stronger with every passing day.

Congratulations, Lindsay and DJ!

Thank you, again.

Lindsay enjoyed her morning as she got ready with her closest girls

A true bombshell, she radiated with grace and classiness in her wedding gown

Ben captured a few photos of DJ right before he left for the ceremony

The two took their vows along the waterfront of Lake Anna amongst their closest family and friends

Lindsay arrived by boat driven by her father to the ceremony. It was one of the most grandiose entrances I’ve seen…so romantic

The ceremony was charming and heartfelt as Lindsay and DJ recited their own vows to each other

Absolutely gorgeous, Lindsay

After a few portraits, everyone headed into the reception which was held along the water

The spreads were beautifully displayed

Lindsay and DJ shared a loving first dance

And Lindsay and her father had the most emotional father/daughter dance I have ever photographed….seriously

The speeches simply exuded the kind of amazing friends that Lindsay and DJ truly are

The two danced and laughed until the very last song

Again, congratulations you two!

Much love,

J

Old Cavalier Hotel Wedding: Anne + Jacob

The Bride writes about her Groom:

“When I was a freshman in high school practicing basketball in the gym, I noticed a tall boy waiting for football practice. I thought he was cute, but that was all. When we went on a retreat in February later that year, I tried to steal his journal in an attempt to “flirt” with him. It didn’t work, because he was kind of oblivious. He became less oblivious that I liked him when a friend told him he should ask me to our Junior/Senior prom. So he did. He waited for me to get to school, walked me to my locker, and then asked me out. And I said ‘yes’ and kind of stumbled off to class. Later that week, I broke my foot playing softball, and he had to take me to Junior/Senior while I was on crutches. So, we bonded quickly after that, and even though we went to different colleges and he went to play professional baseball for awhile, we stayed close. We had bad times and good times, but we always managed to be there for each other. And when his baseball career crashed because of an injury, he came home, and then we decided to get married.”

And they did. And I am so blessed that I was able to capture it. I went to high school with Anne and it is so amazing to see that she has developed into a wonderful, Godly woman.

Anne and Jacob, I am so happy for you and I wish you both the best in your lifelong journey together.

Much love,

Jenelle

Anne and Jacob celebrated their day at the Old Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach along the oceanfront.

Hair and makeup beautifully done by Shelina Sewell of Blush Hair and Makeup.

Anne was peaceful and relaxed as she got ready with her girls.

We went down to the beautiful lobby of the hotel for some pictures before the ceremony.

Absolutely stunning, Anne….

Thank you, Ben, for this beautiful shot…

Jacob and his gentlemen were ready to get this show on the road…

The ceremony was held outside the hotel amidst a grove of trees.

Anne had sweet tears that fell as her father walked her down the aisle to her future husband…

But she was all smiles when she held Jacob’s hand…

After the ceremony, we escaped to the beach for some portraits as the sun set…

She loves him so…

The sunlight along with the ocean breeze was perfect and created a whimsical feel for them…

Back at the hotel, the bridal party gathered before the reception began…

Full of delicious food, cake, beautiful speeches and dancing, their reception was wonderful…

One last moment of just the two of them before they headed off…

Having been a professional baseball player, it was only fitting to exit this way…

Congratulations, Anne and Jacob!
