Onteora Mountain House Wedding: Julia + Forrest

A few weekends ago, Ben and I had the pleasure to travel to upstate New York to a little mountain town right outside of Woodstock. Having spoken to Julia about the venue, I knew this setting was going to be breathtaking. The Onteora Mountain House is tucked between gorgeous green mountains on either side.  You can’t quite get enough of the fresh air that this place brings you.

Julia and Forrest had an absolutely beautiful day. Friends and family were in abundance and you could see that everyone was beyond thrilled to help celebrate the newlyweds and their new journey together.

Julia and Forrest, thank you for having us on your wedding day. We wish you the best that life has to offer.

Congratulations.

I couln’t believe it, but Julia wore these phenomenal heels the entire day…I’m totally impressed.

Julia had her girls from all stages of her life there to help to get ready…

Julia, you are absolutely breathtaking…

Meanwhile, Ben was with Forrest and his fellas while they got ready.

It’s about that time…

The new Mr. and Mrs…

A beautiful cocktail hour was held for guests while we were off taking photos with the bridal party.

Looking good, Forrest…looking good.

Loved the light that was setting in…

A stunning bride…

Such a sweet couple. They fit perfectly together.

The reception was held inside this gorgeous, heavy-timber pavilion.

The two opened up the night with a beautiful first dance…

…followed by a sweet father/daughter dance…

They had some beautiful speeches given by family and friends…

And then the night was full of fun and lots of dancing.

Congratulations, Julia and Forrest.

Eastern Shore Virginia Engagement: April + Patrick

We could not have requested a more beautiful day in Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.  We started the shoot around 4 P.M. which gave us ideal lighting with a warm glow of the setting sun. April and Patrick were so fun and such a sweet couple to photograph. I met April through one of my previous brides and I’m so thrilled and honored to be able to shoot their wedding next June in Cape Charles. I never knew what a gem Cape Charles was, hiding back along the water, away from the main highway. I know this will be the perfect setting for April and Patrick’s wedding. I can’t wait!

Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

Happy Thursday!

In this shot right below, April just finished telling me how Patrick always makes her smile. Must be true.

Our second location was under a pagoda on a breathtaking golf course.

Gorgeous, April…

We then headed to a nearby sunflower field…

Lastly, we ended up along some railroad tracks near the water…

Beautiful couple…really…

Loved this light!

April and Patrick did one last outfit change, as per Patrick’s request – Being National fans, he wanted this one picture. Turned out to be one of my favorites.

Congratulations you two! Can’t wait to photograph your wedding next year.

First Lady of Suffolk Wedding: Jennifer + Toni

I have never witnessed a love quite like the love that these two share for each other.  It is remarkable how endearing each word and look they offer to each other is so completely honest.  With each kiss, you can truly see how much they mean it.

They first met while Toni was completing his PhD in Wisconsin in 2009.  Shortly after, they reunited in Toni’s home county, Spain and traveled to Morocoo as well. After having spent this trip together, they knew this was something special and no amount of distance could put a kink in what they found. They Skyped every day and Toni took several lengthy trips to the U.S. to visit Jennifer over the course of the next year. In April of 2011, Toni found a permanent position in the U.S. If there’s a will, there’s a way…right?

It was such an honor to spend the day with Jennifer, Toni and all their family and friends celebrating their marriage to each other.

Congratulations you two!

The wedding took place at the First Lady of Suffolk in Virginia.

Thanks to Shelina of Blush Hair and Makeup Salon for Jennifer’s makeup.

Jennifer was surrounded by her closest friends all afternoon while she got ready.

Ben was with Toni and the gentleman as they got ready.

Very handsome….

The ceremony was held in a small chapel inside the Victorian venue…

Toni and Jennifer had a meaningful ceremony full of the romantic Spanish language and traditions…

You can see the thrill on her face shortly after having sealed their love…

Toni and Jennifer had pictures of their parents on display on their wedding days. Below is Toni’s parents…

The reception was exquisite, filled with lots of dancing…

…and heartfelt and humorous speeches…

They had a wonderful sendoff with lots and lots of bubbles!
